Chris Brown is gonna get raped in jail

this is probably not very serious and being sensationalized. i'd bet it results in a misdemeanor.

how long is the jail term for domestic assualts?

They didn't book him under domestic assault. The way it works is they book you with the most serious crime you can be charged with, in this case they booked him for criminal threats. Later the DA can add any additional charges such as domestic assault. If I remember reading correctly - "criminal threats" can be up to 9 years. Though I doubt he is going to get prosecuted to the fullest extent.

Realistically, he won't see a day in jail. He'll be all "I was a victim of abuse as a child", cry a few phony tears, and then the judge will give him a sentence of taking an anger management course, doing some community service, and maybe probation.

...Or the judges will do that thing they've been doing to celebrities lately which is "you're just like everyone else" and he'll end up getting 20 years or something.

I guess it depends on if she presses charges ( I know the DA could bring about charges too but it would make it more serious if she did) Anyways, I wish she would as it would set a good example for other women in her shoes, but I bet she won't.

Usually domestic violence ends in a misdemeanor with anger management classes. And the only reason the DA would pick this case up, is because he is a celebrity. Usually the DA doesn't like to get involved in domestic violence cases or similar because they happen so frequently.

Wtf is wrong with this world? When did it all change? Can't them bitches keep their mouths shut after a beating?

I saw an article that speculated that this may be "career-ending" for Chris Brown. Of course I saw similar articles about Michael Phelps and I wondered WTF is wrong with these people ( for the record I consider domestic violence abhorrent, smoking pot not so much)?

My take is Chris Brown's career is going to end if he stops making hits, not because he beat his girl. Or if Jay Z puts a hit out or something.

I am vaguely familiar with his career. I know he is young kid who sings and dances, but I don't know if he writes anything or can play anything. I know a couple of his hits but otherwise don't listen to his music. I think he is mostly just a performer and relies heavily on hot writers/producers.

So to the extent his career depends on his public face as performer, it may be an issue. Obviously won't be as marketable to girls in his age group.

My point is: If Ike can beat Tina, R. Kelly can piss on a kid, Roman Polanski can rape a kid, and numerous other artists can commit pretty horrible crimes and still have careers- What's a little wife-beating?

Most of those people had some marketable skills that were useful for writing, session work, behind the scenes film work, and so on.

But overall people are pretty forgiving. Especially for domestic squabbles, rightly or wrongly ( maybe because everyone has prbably had a GF or BF they wanted to slap or been in a situation where the chick gave as good as she got, etc).

Quote from perezhilton..
As for the events leading up to that awful night, one friend said, "They looked lovey-dovey, laughing and hugging, whispering in each other's ears."

However, it's said many noticed Brown carefully watching Rihanna dancing with other guys at the party Saturday night. "Both of them are young and prone to jealousy," says a source.

If you loved a girl and you saw some guys dick grinding her ass for hours at a club, it wouldn't piss you off? I'm not saying the beating was warranted, but this is what happens when sluts get boyfriends.
