College Gossip Site... Internet censorship etc

College Web site posts sex gossip, hate, rumor - CNN.com

I thought with all the recent juicy threads and talks of C&D letters around here that this article would make for an interesting discussion.

My main take is I don't agree with the censorship idea but I really don't like that the admins allow people to post anonymously (not that it's too hard to hide your identity anyway). People should be able to post what they want but they should always be held accountable for their statements. ( What a bunch a yeller bellies!)

Censorship is one thing... libel is another. The fact that they don't maintain IP address as part of post information, and that they encourage users to cloak their IP address, is irresponsible.
