.com.co

I assume you mean just .co

Good for typos, but otherwise largely a waste of time (unless you are Colombian). Just my 2 cents.

It's actually going to general availability in about 30 hours according to the cointernet.co website. I realize it's worldwide, but it's usefulness was as a country code, not as a global TLD.

Feel free to throw money at it if you want, but I wouldn't recommend it.

Might be another one of those domains that OpenDNS starts blocking like .cm. Hopefully it doesn't become sleazy like cm.

Tell me more about what happened?

Also, if .cm was good for typos don't you think .co could be too?
Plus it is an appreviation for company or coporation. Guess time will tell.

I'd stay away. Definitely stay away from multi-extension stuff like .com.co

I think only .com/.net/.org are worth much. Maybe a 1 word .co domain for a really popular term could get good typo traffic, but otherwise I think it would be a waste.

generic domain names with .co and .cm extensions are good if the corresponding .com domain is parked. this means you can develop your domain names into mini-sites with affiliate ads, benefit from the typo traffic, perform seo and hopefully have a good SERP ranking with major search engines.

That reminds me of a story. I was working with someone a few years back and they wanted help with their site. For no particular reason, I explained their domain sucked because they're paying loads for something which isn't even a tld, but a subdomain. They had *****.uk.com. They refused to believe me explaining it's premium. To which I explained premium in price, not in fact.

A while later they also bought the .eu.com. They were a bunch of fucking idiots anyway. They're still trying to chase the dream using shit 1999 ideas, massive egos and a blinkered outlook even now. Some people are just too arrogant to ever learn.
