Conspiracy Theories - Paranoid Yet?

I think it's funny that conspiracy theorists never ask why? Like I was talking with a guy over christimas about the 9/11 thing. Something about the pentagon being a missile instead of a plane...I was like... but why? what missile? what are you even talking about? he couldn't really answer that. I mean a plane into a builiding is pretty outrageous? Why do people feel they have make it more outrageous? Actually technically a missile would be less outrageous so I think this is just anecdotal evidence that conspiracy theorists just like to be contrary :0

Spot on, they also like to think they know something everyone else doesn't, whatever it is "you still think we landed on the moon? How dumb are you! etc".

The thing that I always ask the people who say that the pentagon was hit with a missile, not a plane is "If that's true, then how did they pay off the several thousand people stuck on I395 & washington blvd?

These 2 locations have quite a clear view of the pentagon, and there were hundreds, if not thousands of people stuck in traffic due to them closing everything up. So , why didn't the thousands of people come forward and say "We saw a missile" instead of the ones that came forward and said "We saw a plane". One guy even claims that a oxygen bottle from the airplane hit his car when the explosion rained debris over his car.

Powerful men trying for world domination -- common knowledge and as old as time.

Let me be clear. I think it's always important to question authority. Repeatedly. (for example the last building that fell in the trade center and all the evidence showing that other things took place besides what we were told, I think that deserves some more investigation)

I just think it's also important not jump on every theory bandwagon that comes you way with the mistaken notion that you're being a free thinker.

Just because something is labeled a conspiracy doesn't mean that it's false. However, moreso than not, a conspiracy is just some made up lunatic garbage. That's why "conspiracy" has a bad name.

The article mentions 33 conspiracies that turned out to be true, but there has been thousands of conspiracies. Conspiracy theorists are nut-jobs who are obsessed with the idea that the government, or aliens, or whoever else is always out to get them.

The spikes in put options occurred on days that were uneventful for the airlines and their stock prices.

On Sept. 6-7, when there was no significant news or stock price movement involving United, the Chicago exchange handled 4,744 put options for UAL stock, compared with just 396 call options -- essentially bets that the price will rise. On Sept. 10, an uneventful day for American, the volume was 748 calls and 4,516 puts, based on a check of option trading records. 5

The Bloomberg News reported that put options on the airlines surged to the phenomenal high of 285 times their average.

Over three days before terrorists flattened the World Trade Center and damaged the Pentagon, there was more than 25 times the previous daily average trading in a Morgan Stanley "put" option that makes money when shares fall below $45. Trading in similar AMR and UAL put options, which make money when their stocks fall below $30 apiece, surged to as much as 285 times the average trading up to that time. 6

Just follow the money trail..............................

You're just another one of those loony conspiracy theorists spreading fear. Cmon man.

What next, 9/11 was an inside job? The country is owned by International Bankers? We're heading towards world communism? Global warming is a push to unite the world under tyranny?

Do you believe this crazy stuff too? I know I sure do. :2gunsfiring_v1:

It makes perfect sense that on 9/11, three towers were taken down by 2 planes! Building 1,2 and 7! Damn those terrorists!

1. Conspiracies and bad people have always existed. So what. Prosecute the ones you can prove did something wrong and if you can't prove a larger world-wide takeover conspiracy than STFU.

2. If you spend your life preaching doom, when doom hits you'll pat yourself on the back and consider yourself a prophet (Alex Jones and others). But what about the decades and centuries of false prophecy? False prophecy is usually forgotten. Doom has been preached forever, nothing new about it. People have been drawn to doom preachers forever, but something IS new about it.. the internet. Enjoy the mass-paranoia.

3. If you spend your life looking for a world wide conspiracy, you'll find one. It becomes your world view. Everything is seen through your NWO looking glass. Pretty sad.

There was plenty of footage of the pentagon attack... but it was all confiscated and never released.

So I pose the question... why? Honestly, that is all I need to see to believe it.

Eyewitness testimony is complete bullshit. It is so easy to mislead people, and memory is so malleable that you can't use it (as established by numerous psychological studies). Fuck, i can stick two wings on a missile and TADA, its a fucking plane to the thousands of people who managed to catch a *glimpse* of an object moving at extreme speeds.

On a more recent note, climategate. Read up on it. World's biggest scam. In fact, 30,000 scientists are suing Al Gore for fraud.

My personal take on conspiracy theories, most are false, but many are true. The g0vernment is corrupt and human nature is to be sheeple. They can lead us in any direction they want to, and do. I have many friends who believe everything is a conspiracy theory (dinosaurs planted by government, MJ was killed because he "knew something", etc) which I believe is totally unfounded.

But when the people become secretive and only reveal the facts they want the people to know, thats when it is the time to question the "facts".

Sure there are nut jobs who just love to be "contrary" but personally, its about facts and motives.

I like how the first 15 or so theories are pretty true, then like 16-30 are theories these assholes WANT to be true. Sneaking in speculation with fact is pretty lame.
