Just curious what everyone thinks/experiences. In the past few years conversions always dip down in mid-December until early January--anyone else notice this? :xomunch: (FYI conversions of normal shit, not your data feed powered Christmas costume store or something).

Surely affects B2B sales .. every year I notice about 7-9% dip in our site traffic compared to previous months, but the sale conversion rate goes even lower. Its like a prolonged weekend..

Happy Holidays!

In my exp. I've notice same shit every year

* Digital products phase out for the most part.

* Tangibles, tv's, electronics, typical popular ebay/amazon shit spike up.

* As soon as new years is over - focus on weightloss/quitting smoking, typical resolutions (they go through the roof for jan/feb, some prep all year just for this sweep).

* Funny fact : I have an associate that has a divorce offer, and his most lucrative day 3 years running - is Valentines of all things.

Conversion rates typically drop off in december dramatically.. and you will see them come back with a vengeance around the 2nd week of february persisting into march.

Isn't it supposed to be the opposite, conversions go up?...I'm surprised! This is my first year in aff mark. so they're my first holiday season and really thought it was a good season. Might just be depending on the offers you promote.

Unfortunately, yes. We brought in quite a few good offers with special holiday landing pages hoping to catch the consumers eye during the holidays. Some did well, especially the ones about free gifts and discounts.

Conversions should pick up the last week of January.

For all verticals...Dating, mobile, rebills?

and why does it pick up back only at the end of January?! Kinda makes no sense...lol

Dating, Email/Zip Submits, Free Giveaway Surveys etc.

Why does it pick back up only at the end of January? Not really sure. I guess it has to do with people not really needing products they did before because they got them during the holidays. Dating might take a little to pick up because chances are more people meet guys/girls during the holidays. Tons of factors really.

Usually Bizopps/Weight loss products (ab circle, weight loss drops, acai weight loss etc.) will do well with everyone trying to get on those New Year resolutions ;)

My amazon sites are converting out of control the past 3 weeks, a lot of them are selling shit that people are buying for gifts. One site has 15% of clicks to amazon converting to sales, up from ~5%.

This is a big part of why I made this thread--I'm trying to diversify into seasonal sites soon so I can even out this fucked up dip in sales that happens every year. Fuck the holidays. Oh well

Wouldn't the day after xmas everyone be bored at home and just waiting to spend money? When should we start marketing again? You would think their would be alot of money on the table the day after xmas as people are stuck at home with nothing to do as things are closed or weather is sub par ?

Thoughts?

I've got some sites that are way down, but a few of them are getting 2x conversions of the same traffic the past few weeks. Totally depends on the niche.
