My GF (yes, really) was recently on facebook while i was next to her and I saw an interesting ad. My affiliate marketer side took over and I immediately told her to click. The ad showed a picture of a fit women and the text was something like "Read how i lost 15 pounds in 1 month".

When she clicked over, it trasferred to a short blog (1 or 2 posts) that would easily look legit to the untrained eye. There were no blatent advertisments or anything, just an article about how they lost the weight with a few links within the article to a diet campaign.

The point was to look as little like an advertisment as possible, and i was impressed. Does anyone else have experience setting up a campaign like this? What are everyone's thoughts?

Clicking someones ads isn't cool man.

Copying the link and pasting it into another tab/window would have been a better idea.

yea, figured someone would mention not to do that. i couldn't figure out a way to see the link though, only a facebook redirect.

yeah, laura and her weight loss blog sure are getting alot of impressions on FB. I wonder if Laura came in 1st in the green tea contest :)

Except facebook hashes the URL and tracks it anyway. Your just copy and pasting a tracking url.

Are you kidding? He did that guy a favour and bumped his CTR. Who knows, he might have bumped the CTR enough that the guy saved 1-2 cents a click from the on out!

Please pay someone to click on my ads on there. With an insane CTR with dirt cheap bids I would never notice. ;)

ON point. Yes I have and do what you speak of.

It works well. Before my acct got NAILED and all of my ads were shut down I was doing high four figures/low five figures a day with certain offers using that exact approach.

Unfortunately, Facebook hasn't approved a single one of my ads since. Bummer, dude.

I feel left out the only ads that EVER and I mean EVER get showed to me on face book is the following

25 And Still Single?

Except mine say:

No idea how those got approved, because I thought it couldn't reference age in the ads. Oh, well.

You can't anymore, but all my existing ads like that are still active (before they changed the tos).

I'm surprised they didn't can all the old ads. Good on those who got in while the getting was good.

I can just imagine some fatty who saw "Are you fat?" in an ad title and sent facebook staff a "IM NOT FAT OMG UR SO MEAN WITH UR ADS HOW DID U KNOW I WAS FAT?!?!" message.

I've switched up ads (ditched the old ones) and am on to a new one for fall. I had NO conversions on the old ones. Not a ton of clicks, but I think enough to realize it wasn't working. I'm striking out on dating ads, but will try one more niche ad soon.
