Copy posts from one blog to another (WP)

I've been googling this on the internet, but they all talk about moving blogs from server to sever.

I need to more the posts from an english WP install to a French one. I put two WP installs in two directories.

Tried copying the DB and changing the links. Error connection to DB.

Has anyone tried this?

Why not just export the post from one and import into the other?

The best solutions are sometimes the most elegant I'll give it a try.

The won't change the image links, right?

If they're hosted elsewhere is shouldn't. To be honest though it's been a while since I've done it so I don't recall how it handles image links.

If they're in the wp-contents/uploads folder, you may need to copy the images over.

They have a checkbox for copying external files. I checked it and everything worked perfectly.
