This should be stickied.

It certainly seems like only a matter of time til one by one, each state has this stupid fuckin idea pop into their head that they can collect more revenue by taxing affiliates in their state for affiliate commissions.

cj.com has made a site with the sole purpose of tracking passing legislation regarding this matter in each and every state. Oh you missed the lobby against your state bill being passed? Wonder why. Track this weekly, and do something, anything, about it. Knowledge is power.

I wonder how much tax money they are actually collecting now that they've made these laws in some states.

‘Amazon tax’ has not generated revenue - PBN.com - Providence Business News

the state law has done nothing to increase tax revenue. Officials at the R.I. Department of Revenue “do not believe that there has been any sales tax collected as a result of the Amazon legislation,”

Legislators continue trying to pass this in new states and they aren't seeing that it has failed before.

Hell yeah South Carolina. Our legislators don't even know what a computer is. Also NH keeps getting more and more attractive.

Fatwallet just moved out of Illinois to Wisconsin. The CEO said they paid $18 million in taxes to Illinois last year. Boy, Gov. Quinn, that was a smart law to pass. You just lost $18 million from Fat Wallet and gained nothing because the companies are dropping Illinois affiliates.

How can these people in government be this dumb?

until the day Delaware says "holy shit! Do you SEE all these fuckin' companies incorporated here that we could tax now!!?? We're RICH Byotch!!"

That's Delawares current business model. We've got (or had, can't say I pay attention these days) the nations most respected corporate law courts, and a climate designed for firms to incorporate here.

They aren't going to make it worse - our economy took a big hit when we lost the car plants, and half the credit card / banks layed off massive amounts of people.

So incorporate here - keep my taxes down and thank you.

You guys are all welcome to move to Oregon and live with me. I'll run some ethernet cables, put up a bunch of bunk beds and we'll party tax free!

$18m in taxes?

This article states they had $13m in revenue -- still not bad for just 54 employees!
