I received an email from hydra today basically telling me that they will stop working with incentive publishers due to the amount of fraud and I have to pull my traffic. Then I got an email from revenue universe detailing the changes they are making due to incentive traffic fraud. Is this the end of the incentive game?

Is there any other cpa network that you guys know of that are making similar changes?

This doesn't surprise me. Greedy advertisers want the most qualified leads humanly possible; even to the detriment of the affiliates which are the core of their entire business.

all of them.

i nearly ran the incentivized industry back in the day. theres so much damn fraud there its amazing the model has still stayed afloat.

I don't even understand how incentivizable offers make money. The people who make the leads are just looking for a quick buck, nothing more. It's like a scammy version of rewards shopping.

There are some good incentive publishers out there, but most of the one's we've had experience with are filthy. I could provide a list as long as my leg with names of bad incentive publishers.

not to mention you live paycheck to paycheck hoping your advertisers wont revoke leads for fraud (thus putting you out of a substantial chunk of money and pissing customers off)

I you're in the incentive game, that's the rules of the game. You're going to get charge backs from advertisers. Let's face it, probably at least 40% of your leads are bad. The users sign up and cancel before the free trial is over. There are a lot of incentive sites that even tell the users how to cancel and even get their initial money back for the shipping and handling.

Yeah that is a tough segment of the market when you can get canceled or withheld for pretty much any reason.

Not surprising, but tough luck for those who have been doing well with it.

There are still going to be incentive sites, but those are more legitimate focused on discounts as opposed to cash back.

A number of Search Cactus advertisers (on their sub-pub & cashback sites) have taken down their incentive campaigns lately, as well.

ATM Interactive is another one that is stopping it. The problem is that advertisers want their leads to convert and there are so much fraud in incentive industry that their offers simply do not convert as they hope they will.

Some incentives still would do alot, but it's the only ones where you would have to pay for them and then the customers could do a chargeback.
