"We are thrilled to announce our exclusive partnership with AppNexus and are extremely confident in its world-class platform to manage CPX’s enormous reach of nearly two billion global impressions per day," said CPX CEO, Mike Seiman. "AppNexus has an incredibly scalable platform which can handle our rapidly growing ad serving and real-time bidding needs and, in allowing it to do so, we remain focused on our core competencies - designing and executing digital campaigns, driving the highest yield for our publisher partners and generating powerful and proprietary first-party campaign data."

hopefully anyone who was STILL considering working with them will decide against it

They didn't replied to my e-mail, when I wanted to be an advertiser. That is already a reason for me not to work with them. And yes, whole setup smells very fishy.

If you are ad network and run your own shit = all right
If you are ad network and run other shit = all right
If you are ad network and allow affiliates and run other than theirs yours or other shit = all right

If you are ad network and allow affiliates and run their shit after some time you shoul be out of business, cause why accept affiliates from start then steal from them. If affiliates steal from other aff at least it's somewhat fair competition, not that honest, but at least you have equal chances to succeed.

As long as they don't STEAL pub campaigns its all good....cloak yo shit

if they wanna see your stash, tell them to gtfo and find another network

if the quality of your traffic is there and you're compliant, that's all that matters.

Just about every network drives their own traffic.
This

Seriously... Networks would be dickheads* for suggesting new LP's and offers when they don't even know if they convert or not. That's like sending affs on Kamikaze missions.

"Here, take this LP/Offer, lose some money and let us know how it works." Not cool.

The only way to know is to test. The only way to test is to send traffic. etc.

*Although some networks ARE dickheads like that.

Seems like there are two topics here:
1. ad networks that take advertiser campaigns and run themselves
2. aff networks that run their own traffic

#2 is easier, and has been addressed - conceal your traffic data
#1 is more troubling - not only for affiliates, but advertisers as well. Sure, they can see affiliate campaigns, take your creatives, and run them. Let's take this a step further - Let's say you are the merchant and you own a credit report offer. You run with an ad network, using their pixel. They then have all the data on your campaign, and could compete against you by running traffic to the affiliate program of a competing credit report offer, or by setting up their own offer. One solution is to not use their pixel, although this will be challenge if you're working with a blind network.

Another solution is to develop your own ad network (requires capital and relationships, however). Alternatively, you can start by doing direct site buys.

What about the ones that decided they're going to start a paid forum and teach you campaign secrets of other affs?

It's a small community. If that is where they were getting their ideas, people will stop feeding them and it all dries up. If what they're teaching is mostly theirs from testing & experience then they'll stick around.
