Last thread I read about facebook on here was full of flames. If you wanna flame flame on! This might be a dumb question.

I'm assuming that FB's algorithm is more or less aiming to hit a target CPM. What I've been doing is starting at the $0.75 / click level and as CTR gets between .3 and .5% adjusting to their recommended CPC.

The thing is I want to add some keywords that I know will perform about the same. Is it a better strategy to just take the CPM I've been able to achieve and still pull traffic and run my new ads that way? I don't want to edit my existing ad and have to go through reapproval because as far as I can tell I end up having to go through the whole process of getting my CPC down again.

I'll start off with the replies: TEST IT YOURSELF JERKOFF

If you bid cpc you are going to have to work your bids down even if you are duplicating another ad and targeting the same demo/keywords. If you bid cpm you can avoid that but you better watch your ctr closely to make sure that ad is performing the same. I have see the same ad perform drastically differently for the same exact demo/keyword before many many times.
