If you're approved to join an affiliate program such as NCSReporting or CardOffers.com, is it against the TOS to apply for credit card offers through your own affiliate links?

Would your spouse be able to without violating TOS?

Does anyone have any information regarding this? I mean, we honestly could stand to try and find a better interest rate to consolidate our credit card debt onto and if I could make a commission in the process...that's a bonus.

Thanks for any info :)

Most likely, it'd be okay if your spouse did. Click your own affiliate link from the library or something, though :-p

Theres a huge difference between signing up for 1000 credit cards, and not using them, and signing up for one credit card, and using it.

actually the companies i've asked this questoin to or seen it discussed on the boards are good with it assuming you are doing it for legitmiate use and not just to get a commission and cancel later.

If you really become a customer why would they care? I highly doubt that Citibank or Chase or a big credit card company monitors their affiliate program in that detail. There are privacy laws, wouldn't it be illegal to disclose a consumers information to a marketing department?

I asked my AM at CardOffers.Com about this very same question. He said that it was fine as long as I was only applying for 1 or 2 cards.

Generally use common sense, dont be applying for every card you have access to and it wont be an issue.
