Alright. I'm 20 and I've been in the online business for a few months now, however, I am tired of all this charging onto debit card. It is time to get a little credit. For now, I don't have any. I don't want a card that will give me a low limit, as I plan on spending more than 1000 dollars a month this next coming month. Any affiliate marketers out there have any suggestions?

Thanks

If you're disciplined, get an Amex with no preset spending limit and cash back rewards.

he doesnt have enough credit for that.

I started with a card from my current bank at the time who knew me and could trust me. Then I went to a bank of america card cause they accept just baout anyone. After that I had spome credit and moved on aaamam

I was 19, no credit history, when I got an Amex Blue (Reward Points) and an Amex Blue Cash Back and a Capital One Platinum; These were my first credit cards.

Same here... When I was 18 with no credit history, I qualified for the original Amex no problem.

I had no credit as of 5 months ago. I got a capital one card with a $300 limit. I've paid it off for about 4 months, now my credit score is ~700. Just get any card, you'll build up credit really easy. Try to not apply for a bunch of crap, all the inquiries will hurt your score.

Seems like Amex Blue is the way to go then. I'll look into it. I don't plan to spend that much, but it would probably be a good idea to put all my adwords onto a card instead of keep risking these overdrafts.

Thanks everyone

Alright, so I am having trouble applying for Blue. If I apply for US Bank which is where I have my accounts, I know I'd get screwed with horrible rates. Any other options?

Never mind on the rates. I won't get screwed as long as I pay back.

I've got a US Address, I just live in a different country for now. Just looking for a card with good cash back bonuses.

I'd love that Black card. I think I need to start spending 10,000 dollars a day first though. Gaining that much so I could pay for it might be a good start as well. Anywho, I applied for a few Citibank cards to start me off. I got flat turned down for Blue. We will see what CitiBank says.

The Centurion card is just a status symbol. I couldn't see myself using the majority of the benefits. The fee is pretty outrageous too for features I'd never use.

If you need a little credit history, you can also buy something expensive from Best Buy or a department store (these cards are crap, by the way), and make the monthly payment minimum up right until the last month they WON'T charge interest. Then pay it off. I helped my sister do that and she bought her first laptop for college (over $1,000). She had 750+ credit score on two of the three metrics already and got her Amex Blue before she made the last payment.

I suggest just getting a card with no benefits and keep it paid off. After your first credit line payment in full, call them and ask for a credit limit raise. Most cards naturally increase your credit limit after your first three initial pay-offs.

Good luck. Never miss a payment and your credit score can't not go up. :)

If you guys are having trouble getting a Blue, apply for the Delta Skymiles Gold AMEX card. Seriously. I was flat out refused for a Blue, but I got the Skymiles card and converted it to a Blue a couple weeks later. It's a hella lot easier to get. I just sent a secure message through the AMEX site to request a conversion to Blue. I think this would work with just about any other card AMEX offers, though..just use the Skymiles card to 'get in the door,' so to speak.

I also tried to apply for the blue for students a few weeks ago. And they denied my request. So I applied for the Delta Skymiles Gold AMEX card and I was approved with in a day. So if you have no credit this is a good way to get a credit card. Thanks for the tip.

Thanks for that suggestion. I was approved. I will have to look into upgrading it as well.
