So, im gonna give PPC marketing a go on my own at the suggestion of many people from my other thread

Up til now, I havent really made a landing page except for iframing an affiliates page...I havent really done PPC other then that, ive made 0 sales via PPC and im looking to turn that around...

I doubt this will impress anyone but any suggestions are appreciated - Childrens Book of the Month Club

Just my opinion... 1. Too much information. 2. Not clear enough where to click. You need a big button that say's "click here". Your users should see what to do within 3 seconds or they will bounce.

That page will be slapped faster then you can say $5 min bids...

It would have worked about a year ago, but adwords won't like that now. You could push it on overture or msn though.

Beejeebers, what about it will get me crappy bids?

Google's QS which also stands for Google's Quality Scam......if you've got a low QS then they don't like your page an you'll be paying a whole lot more per click......however if they love your page and they believe your spreading valuable information over trying to sell something then your bids will fall until you begin to say "Oh My God I Love Google".

I know what QS is, I dont know what about my page will get me a low QS? Ive linked directly to a clickbank landing page and had a QS that has been "Great" for the last 2 months, it just wont convert...

Its pretty bad.

You don't do an adequate job pre-selling the book club membership. You should include testimonials and many more pages of info to convince the visitor to sign up.

You need to space the text into shorter paragraphs since those big blocks of text are hard to read especially considering the background doesn;t contrast well with the text.

Another problem is that the book club offer is a steaming pile of shit for several reasons.

1. the affiliate link takes too long to load

2. the merchant page is very cluttered and unprofessional as if it were put together by someone who just finished reading Websites For Dummies 1998 Edition

3.
The shipping and handling is INSANE! $15 S&H for 5 small children's books? It is a deliberate markup intended to recover profit.
Just because Jon showed off some flashy earnings stats DOESN'T make it a good offer. Do you know where the traffic came from? No; all he did was just show revenue and conversion rates. Without a context the data is essentially useless.

Ibart, I have been trying to push this offer via a wordpress blog before Jon ever came out with his 2007 stats. Its only now that ive decided to give it a push with PPC because I would like to step it up...

Right now all of my affiliate shit is relying on SERPs which at this point arent providing much traffic...

The other marketing thing I would like to do is make my own landing pages for ClickBank products(Theres another example of merchant/LPs that suck) that I can link directly to the buy page, if anyone knows how to do this please let me know...

I'm not insulting your design, (it's very nice), I'm just saying that it only links to clickbank. Therefore it's a bridge page and therefore it'll be slapped. If it hasn't happened yet it will.

With this type of offer, why go direct to merchant?

Just put "adultsfaq.com" as the destination and display url, then give all your keywords their own url to clickbank.

With this type of offer, you want them off your page and onto the merchants as fast as possible. This isn't adsense where you have to convince or trick them to click your ads. Let the merchant to their job, convert the click to a sale. The fewer steps between the clicker and a sale the better.

AdultsFAQ isn't a good domain. It it suggestive of an porn site and may not get many clicks.

Beejeebers, I agree that in this situation its best to get the customer to the goods as quick as possible. This isnt a Clickbank offer though, I was referring to other offers im trying to do the same with...

Ive always heard that its a no no to link your adwords directly to the merchants page, but instead to create a Landing Page, what makes this situation different?

I know the domain isnt that great, hell, when I had it parked, it was all porn ads...

Def try a different domain. I have to agree that the offer sucks ass. Their page looks like shit, and advertising a $2 price, then dropping a large S & H bomb is sure fire way to scare off customers. Would you still buy something that is going to cost over 8 times what it was just advertised as?

I think you should always have the offer within loading view on the site.

Not where a user has to scroll down to find the offer.

There are ways around that direct to merchant crap that google tries to pull. In fact, I've posted a nice tip on how to beat in this very forum... :)

Yeah? Link me, please. :D

When's the next update to the $10k challenge?
