Wassup brahs,

It looks like I'm going to get an SEO manager job for some decent coin but with plenty of asskissing and snake oil selling to stupid clients. The company does not approve very much of me having a bunch of affiliate websites which could conflict with clients.

So I'm considering flipping my sites for 10-20K and putting it into a bankroll for PPC.

Now I would like some reassurance that PPC can make me lots more bank than SEO for half the hours put in. Please tell me this is a good idea long term?

Also, what if any courses or paid forums are worth investing in?

Some teddies for your time:

I made the switch the other way, and I think it was the right one.

I made decent money with PPC, but it felt more like a hustle and less like building a real long term business. It was definitely a lot more exhilarating to have $4,000/day in revenue coming in, but it also sucked having 3-4 months of not being able to get anything to work. Now with SEO I can rest easy knowing that I have 5 figures/mo that isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

With that being said, what matters the most is your skillsets. There are skills that make you better at SEO and skills that make you better at PPC. Figure out which ones you have and have that guide your decision.

Hmm... first reply negative.

What do you think are good skillsets for SEO and PPC? For SEO I think it requires a good deal of analytical and creative skills, but also the patience to grind it out day after day. If you're to be succesful in SEO you need a strong business plan and managing skills. What do you think about PPC?

That'd be a good question to ask someone who does a lot of PPC.

All of my PPC stuff was on Facebook and I got out when Facebook stopped being ridiculously easy to make money off of. And creating massive amounts of Zwinky/MyWebFace ads while a network was giving you a guaranteed EPC didn't require that much skill.

Google still makes bulk of its profit from PPC.
Just remember that not a lot of them are from affiliates like back in the day.
Having your own sites is never going to be a conflict of interest, as long as you are in a different niche.
In fact you can showcase them as your SEO portfolios / skills

PS: Remember that in the California gold rush, it was the Picks and SHovel merchants who made the most money..
