Cyber sex causes depression: study - Technology - smh.com.au

A recent study at Swinburne Uni (it's a good one for Sociological studies, I've had a few mates go there) came up with this.

Why do a I mention it?

Think about it.
If you're running an adult site, this basically verifies that 2/3+ of your regulars are battling depression. Cross market that with something else that makes you feel better, be it happy pills, a good exercise regime or just more porn.

Now, if you're running a purely porno site, this may be hard.
If you're running something more along the lines of a cam/solo girl site, you've got an in here, particularly if you have an email list, or "she has a blog".
You can either be outright unsubtle, and post a link to the study or a report on the study, and then push a referral to your choice of "happiness", depending on the theme of your site i.e. naughty girls would refer you to some more porn with a happier theme, where as nice girls would want to help regulars out 1-on-1 for only $XX.95 per minute.

If you're running more of an aggregate site, it becomes easier. You simply link a post to something like some happy herbal shit, or even a diet: "Look like a porn star, get women, feel better!" sorta shit.

Likewise, you can go the other way, and target people feeling depressed.
Some sort of FB add with a cute girl "Feeling depressed? Can I help?", then go to a lander that's not quite adult, but has plenty of stuff that will take them to something softcore.

And last but not least: Suicide Girls... Come on, that's like shooting ducks in a barrel.

Anyway, just some thoughts.

Interesting.

I call that concept traffic laundering, and posted it months ago but no one cared. It is the process I use of finding overlapping groups that are not easily recognizable. Here is the post. Traffic Laundering

The stripped down idea is to find ways, usually untapped in ppc or seo, to funnel traffic to your target groups. That is one reason that facebook ppc is so amazing, and some people make bank on it. Demographics targeting allows the affiliate to use this concept to sell. Imaginative ads usually close the deal.

Hint: engaged men, "Keep her happy" ad, promote mid price women stuff, try to find a landing page that does not overwhelm him.

I also want to add, that every affiliate should make at least one porn site. Everyone secretly believes we are running porn anyway.... So, boobsurfer.com. Ideas?

Very interesting. Nice blog post glow.
Boobsurfer.com: a boob blog with categories like small, medium, large, huge and giant boobs.

Thanks. Please note that this is not the "low hanging fruit" concept. It is a way to find different ways to approach the target group.

I was thinking a site with boobs (apparently) like the ones you post on wickedfire, and a rating script. Hot or not style, something like that, not sure exactly.

Sorry Glowleaf, didn't realise. I read your blog from time to time, cause you do write good stuff, but I'm not a subscriber. Maybe do a follow up post saying that this is the stuff you're talking about, and science just proved it?

Maybe themed porno? Beach voyeur shots? Surfer chicks that are topless?

No need to apologize, I was mostly kidding. But do become an RSS subscriber!

About the follow-up, nah, I already knew that approach 15 years ago when my dad was tutoring me. It is also common sense. The article you found is proof that one approach works. There are millions of others, as you well know, in any network, the available number of connections between hops is exponentially dependent on the number of hops.

I think I found the solution for boobsurfer, I will keep it a secret until it goes live. It will be a hit!
