Dating site idea?

Well I have always been pretty good at dating offers but this idea came to me from a friend and I kind of built on it... Just looking for some feedback.

What I was thinking was maybe tossing up some kind of dating site that would purposely not even compare to major sites but re-link dating offers via banners within it.
Building it isn't an issue, osDate is available so all I have to do is customize the code and maybe build on it a bit.

Of course, SEO is key on it.

Good idea? Bad idea? Fucking terrible idea?
 


You're missing 1 crucial step, why would this crappy site have traffic? I assume by re-link you just mean you're going to add ads on it?
 
I must be missing something, what is the exact thought process you think your users are going to go through?

1.User clicks on ad (no idea how you're going to promote it?)
2. User falls on site, thinks mmm, this looks shitty I don't trust this site one bit.. so at this point, why the hell would they click your ads instead of closing the window?

Sounds like a perfect idea if you're trying to waste money with no return.
 
Might work if you attacked it from a local angle. I made a sign that said something to the effect of "How much is a #1 ranked site on google worth to your business" with my URL on it and stuck it out by the highway...tripled my type in traffic and got a bunch of tools to sign up to my list.

I imagine it would have been much more effective if it said "looking to hook up? www.FreeHotPussy.com" or some shit like that since way more people are looking to get their dick's wet than their websites ranked.

thanks, I was actually looking for that link...there's a thread on WF (shooting the shit maybe?) too with more info/feedback and some other approaches peeps have taken.
