This kind of doesn't make sense. Are you talking about a wall outlet or the electrical (breaker) panel?

If you have a melted outlet, then obviously the electrical breaker is not doing its job. Depending on what you are running, common wall outlets are generally a 15 amp load. You most likely have a higher rated breaker installed, causing your outlet to burn up before the breaker trips. Or your breaker is junk.
