Because of circumstances I am having to use IE8 for some google user content creation. When I used to use firefox for this, I would simply clear my cookies and the current google account I was logged into would be signed out (since google lost track of that info). Then I change my proxy settings and log into the next account.

However when using IE8 I am deleting ALL recent browser files (history, cookies, temp files/cache, logins, etc. everything is marked for deletion) Yet clearing the recent browser history does NOT log me out of my google account.

This tells me that something still may be lingering around for the website (google) to track me. What do you guys think it could be?

PS. No third party toolbars (including google toolbar) are installed.

Question -- are you logged into gmail? I recently upgraded everything -- new computer, etc and i mostly use FF but I do occasionally use IE8. I have my settings to clear all history etc. on exit but if I have been logged into a gmail account, and I open IE later I see I'm still logged in! Very annoying. On my old system with IE7 all i had to do was close the browser and it logged me off -- so now I make sure I log out of gmail before I close the browser.

Yes I'm logged into gmail but that is not the problem because when i delete my browser cookies in FF3.6 I refresh the page and google doesn't remember what gmail acocunt i was logged into (which is good)

The fact that I can completely wipe my recent history in IE8 and google still remembers the gmail acocunt I'm logged into, shows that they can still track me somehow (and thus watch as I log out of one acocunt and into the next)

Have Adobe Flash installed? Need to clear those cookies as well

I had a good LSO cookie remover for firefox and found out that google does not seem to use LSO cookies. (it could not detect any LSOs after i logged into a gmail account)
