dems to use national id card as answer to illegal immigration

I've already got a national ID card, it's called a passport, tens if not hundreds of millions of Americans have one too, where's the outrage over that?

I have a driver's license too, which thanks to telecom networks and teh interwebz may as well be a national ID card, I've never understood the hysteria about national ID cards.

their ultimate purpose is to track our every move, every transaction we make, every location we travel to (these cards will have RFID tagging), etc.... its just giving the government more power over us. they will prob start requiring people to use and have this card to 1) get a job, 2) use medical care, 3) make purchases, 4) travel, etc....

^ Is Paul getting forgetful in his old age? Why isn't he talking about the REAL ID act if he's so against a national ID?

They are pretty much the same thing, I'm actually in favor of a national ID and think it should be required for certain things: applying for a job, boarding planes, entering federal buildings, entering/leaving the country, buying firearms, getting a security clearance, getting government contracts etc.

Patriot Act already does all of these things. It was passed a few years ago when someone else was in charge...

When will the road blocks and check points go up? or is this included in their plans.

hmm that ron paul video he says that the id's might have gps in them which doesnt make sense because it would also need a battery and shit and a way to connect to a cellphone tower or something to transmit your every position to the govt.
i agree with him though that this will open up tons of possibilities to mandatorily keep info on people in one place that should be private and getting a job/bank account/health care/make transactions based on the database info would make it easy to deny you. think japanese americans 1942 there might be a database column to check if you are on a list and if so you wouldnt be able to buy anything etc.
