Been looking around the past few days. Noticed a lot of people use Wordpress! Why is wordpress good for marketing? What exactly are you looking for in a Wordpress theme?

not spam dip sticks, legit question or maybe its to hard for you to comprehend what I was asking? if so let me clarify - or better yet let me rephrase it for the kiddies that ride the little yellow bus: I am thinking of trying some of this marketing stuff out and I notice that a lot of people here use wordpress to do so. Why do you choose wordpress over another kind of blog software like textpattern. I would like to try some of this marketing stuff out on a test site and I have seen some templates that say they are adsense ready and so what I meant by "what are you looking for in a theme" is are there certain plugins to use for this or is stuff hard coded into a theme so you don't have to do anything or what?

I guess i need to be more specific when asking a question and or questions. I apologize for not being clearer, earlier :anon.sml:

I'm not talking about designing a theme. I can do that blinfolded and you can bank on that, but I am not an expert on this marketing stuff and want to know why wordpress is good for it, completely different from designing. I use to use Postnuke exclusively for my sites, but I am liking wordpress more and more. I am not asking "how to design a template" or "what kind of templates you would like to see" I don't need to know this. What I do need to know is if I use wordpress for marketing or arbitrage, what suggestions do you have for a "n00b to marketing" like me to optimize it and see results. What has worked for you? what hasn't?

Maybe I'm not asking the question correctly?

Use search. This has been answered a thousand times.

If you are a designer and don't understand how Wordpress (or any of the other CMS on your site) works you are only half a designer - at best.

Who the fuck would want to hire a designer to work on a theme for them, and they have no clue of the CMS's true benefits and/or how far you could "push it"?

I know how every CMS i design for works amigo and believe me I know how to "push" them, but that wasn't my question. This thread wasn't meant to be about designing (yes I wrote the title wrong) Granted I phrased it wrong - I was looking for some possible tips and tricks from people who use WP for marketing. I would like to try my hand at making some $$$ doing this arbitrage stuff. Thats all - and yes I know I posted this in the wrong section (i've been brutalized for that as well....hahaha) so cut me some slack will yah lol!

There's probably a "Idiots Guide for Making Bazillions With Wordress" book at Borders. There's usually even a Starbucks in there. Then you can also wax philosophic on some killer Java here.

Watch Nickycakes. He's a new moderator with a virgin ban hammer waiting to defile.
