Currently my old Dell has an agp slot that powers two monitors and and an addon pci video card for the the third. Occasionally it freezes and I believe it's the underpowered stock power supply. Would rather get a new machine since the power supply is proprietary.

Looking to buy a new pc that supports three monitors like my current setup for under $1000. I don't game on the machine but I do use a lot of ram due to multiple tabs open in firefox.

Would love to hear your recommendations for a replacement desktop to power three monitors. I don't really want to build it but I would install a second video card if needed.

Not sure of a good setup for 3 monitors with an extra video card, but I've been using [ame=http://www.amazon.com/Kensington-Universal-Multi-Display-Adapter-Black/dp/B002F9NSMQ]Amazon.com: Kensington Universal Multi-Display Adapter (Black): Electronics[/ame] and have been really satisfied with it. Adds an extra monitor via a USB device.

Best person to answer would probably be http://www.wickedfire.com/members/heavyt.html - Wall Of Monitors - If you only have one monitor you're doing it wrong.......

I would consider ditching that machine. It sounds old and underpowered.

So much has changed, memory, CPUs, Power Supplies.

You could get a system around a good video card like this:

Newegg.com - HIS iCooler V Turbo H583FNT1GDG Radeon HD 5830 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card w/ Eyefinity

Free MW2 game ..... Eyefinity.....

HIS HD 5830 iCooler V 1GB (256bit) GDDR5 PCIe (DirectX 11/ Eyefinity) (Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® 2 Game Coupon Inside) < HD 5800 Series < Desktop Graphics < Products | HIS Graphic Cards

Scroll down and check out the 3 monitor setup.

Or maybe get a good built machine with a decent power supply and PCI-e and drop something like that in
