It's pretty much hiphop to me, not seeing much electronical influence in their tracks (except for I Fink U Freeky).

Maybe. But riding on the coattails of celebrity is a slippery slope. That video is dies a boring death without Lady Gaga's image. Next DA project might have to feature an ironic Corey Feldman cameo, else risk the decline of chikki-chikki-bling-bling ticket sales, which is inevitable when art students make it big in music anyway.
 
These guys aren't much different than lady gaga, clearly the music isn't anything you'd really want to listen to. Their videos, their image is what sells them. They're just so crazy and fucked up, that it confuses people into liking their music, when in reality it's the image they like.
 
Naw, he does hip-hop and other styles; a proper musician. He just fucks around with the Die Antwoord stuff. He has about 4 or 5 different groups, and also solo:
