Digg bought by Betaworks for $500K

Saw that. That is very sad should have sold out when they had a chance. That redesign killed them made the site unusable for a long period of time.

Man I could have bought that site for 500k. Poor investors who poured in over 45 million to that site.

The office pictures always looked way too causal and seems like they had way too many employees for that site.

2/10 not even a nice effort.

Before you try and comment / troll on something at least know what you're talking about.

Shut the fuck up you goddamn retard. If you were right then reddit would be performing poorly since it's the largest liberal (with a capital fucking L) site period. As a matter of fact, reddit stole most of diggs traffic and caused its eventual downfall:

I think Newscorp and Google tried to buy them for several hundred million dollars when they were big.

Idiot. Ever heard of reddit?

You can unsubscribe from the faggot areas of reddit like /r/politics so it's not that bad. Pretty sure you couldn't do that on digg. You may be able to now, I dunno.

Also, digg was way less left than reddit. I don't think its political leanings had anything to do with its death to be honest.

I know many people, myself included, left when that stupid bluray key shit happen. When digg was trying to keep it off the front page because Sony was all over them.

Kevin Rose is so fucking annoying. Used to love Digg/DiggNation. The more I watched Digg Nation the more irritated I was by Kevin Rose. So I unsubbed. Then it started to seem like most the top Digg content was garbage. (Top 10 lists, etc.) So, I moved to Reddit. Just looked at Digg's top news in all topics story. Only 243 diggs. Brutal.

Also, for people saying Digg died because of it's left slant. Here's /r/politics front page. Like Ly2 said though, at least you can unsub.

Keep in mind who and what the the bulk of reddit's userbase is made up of...discusting hippy trash.
