Direct Linking in CJ

Never really used CJ for much of anything but wanted to test a new offer w/ some direct linking.

I noticed in the CJ options, we have to select a website. I seem to recall in the past that if we didn't select the same website as when making the link, it didn't work - that was for web traffic.

With this merchant, I selected their "PPC" link in the list of available ones but it still asks for the website in a dropdown. Since I'm direct linking, it wouldn't go through any of those, so is this link going to correctly credit me w/ sales?

There's no issue, and the CJ link should work on any site. Just to be safe, go to the Account Tab -> Web site Settings -> Edit Account Settings (button), and select Search Engine Marketing as a method of promotion. I think if you don't have that selected, the links may show up as "Invalid Links" (but still work), but I know that my account doesn't any problem, and "Search Engine Marketing" is selected for me.

Just make sure to check out the advertiser's "Keyword Link" for any policies about keyword or display URL restrictions - Many CJ advertisers run their own campaigns and don't like affiliates on their display URL so you don't want to be found violating the policies.

I'm running a few direct linking CJ campaigns right now, and they work perfectly fine.

thanks - think the advertiser is pretty new at this because they don't have any restrictions whatsoever. That is bound to change but hopefully I can be an early mover.
