I figure directory submissions will bring you traffic + backlinks (especially good if they have high PageRank).

What I'm wondering about is do I only submit my main URL, or should I also go on about submitting subdomains, subcategories on my site, single blog posts, etc? I am already thinking I should be submitting those as well; my real question is do most link directories allow you to submit such "non-main-URL-links"?

Woops. They are called deeplinks, and may be submitted to many directories. Nice working, knukk! :D

No directory will bring in Traffic to your site. Once you submit your directory the directory owners may either reject or accept your listing. This depends on the conditions/rules they follow to accept a listing. Once done, your link will only be counted as backlink only when it gets crawled by the SE bots. This also depends on how soon the directory owners get their directory crawled by SE's bots.

Directories are two kinds : one that accept only the main url and the others that accept deeplinks. Personally i prefer to submit my main url (offcourse) and my "money" page.

You got to read which ones allow main page only and which ones allow deeplinks.

Ahh, thank you :)

Although I was thinking it would be a time saver to outsource the directory submissions, I nonetheless want to understand the facts about it.
