DirectTrack and "creatives"

Okay, before you say anything, Yes I feel like a moron. I've been staring at "Launch Creatives" in DirectTrack affiliate programs for some time now and never bothered to figure out what they hell they are or do.

Can someone help me out. I thought about waiting until ASW (or asking on my affiliate managers) but I figured "What the hell, let it hang out. Maybe some n00b has the same question and is too scared to ask it"
 


It is like a channel. for example you could name a creative msn and one yahoo, then in your stats go to deployed creative stats and you will see the stats seperated by creative.

when you "launch" the creative it will give you a new link that is tied to the name you supplied.

The part I've never figured out is that some companies enable you to password protect it for some reason.
 
Ya I thought that was weird.
Why pw protect something thats pretty much already protected...
 
Okay, so it's similar to channels in Adsense, right? Just name it then you can track it differently.

Wow, that was simple. Why couldn't they just call it something like "unique tracking code". Thanks Jdog!

I personally don't do anymore affiliate marketing myself anymore. We phased that out thankfully.

I was just saying in general, DT blows. Copeac fortunately for you has insanely good support and a tech staff that helps deal with potential issues, but for the understaffed networks out there, they have trouble many times and don't realize it until days later.
