Going to give them a call tomorrow about getting setup. Planning to run it 100% private for my own offers to get higher rates/payouts ect.

Anyone think this would be a bad idea?

I don't fully understand the system yet as I havn't spoken with them. Any reason why this wouldn't work?

Hey Will,

I'm not sure if you spoke to anyone at DT yet, but if you'd like to get some info about the software please feel free to email me at aromanelli@directresponse.com. I've been working for Direct Response (aka DirectTrack) for 3 1/2 years now, and can hopefully help answer any questions you may have.

Direct Track

You do this. $10k startup, $1k per month plus overages if you have any.

DT has a few different versions of their platform.

I know for a fact that the network version is 10k to start up. And, if I understand you correctly, for what you're going to utilize it for, the standard Merchant version would suffice.

And, don't quote me, but I think it's a hell of a lot cheaper. Like a quarter of the price on the network version!

Why not get a custom script? I honestly don't think you'd need all the features DT offers for what you are wanting to do (If i understand you correctly).

actually what i think the OP wants to do is to get access to the crosspub system so he can go direct to the publishers himself...so he gets the full commmission instead of working through a network and getting the slightly lower payout (due to the spread the program takes off the top).

in theory the idea makes sense...but it matters what kind of $ volume you are doing to see if the #s pan out. you may just be better asking for pay bumps from the programs you already work with.

The crappy thing about DT is they suck you in with the cross pub feature, but it's not as golden as it appears on the surface. If you're buying it for that reason, I wouldn't.

typically, how much is the spread on an offer?

can an AM insider give some examples? zip code offers, dating offers, acai berry, ....

what is the "take"? i am thinking about licensing direct track as well. would be nice to see what the additional bump in revenue is.

Just because you will have DT (or an affiliate network for that matter) doesn't mean that merchants will join you. They will shy away if anything.

wow - that's really high!

10-30%!? my goodness.

i mean, are you saying that those zipcode submits that pay $1, the network is taking $.30!?

acai berry blue - $36 - network takes $12? OMFG. am i dreaming?

that's a lot. i see the smiley and they pay $2-3. you mean the network gets $1.

can someone tell me that's not the case? cuz if it is, then it totally makes sense to own a network.

now i understand why everyone is discouraging me from starting one. you guys are making bank! and that's why i got nomoremoney!

I'll tell you one advertiser I have for email submits, his paying us $2.55 a submit. I've seen this same offer on other networks for $1.20; so really; there is a pretty big take on some offers.

Yes I know some members here will bash me at giving out confed. info; but it's always good to put such things in perspective.

lol @ nomoremoney. i encourage you to open a network.

also keep in mind some larger networks only take 5-10% to ensure high rates.

this is a little misleading to someone that doesn't know better. The advertiser in this case has been able to look at your traffic and give you what it is worth. When placing an offer in a network you have to blend all the shit traffic in with the solid traffic and THEN on top of that the network takes a cut. Also, if someone is taking rack rate on network offers that's their own fucking fault.

Damn 10-30%!

Shit at that rate we all need to be networks. Only problem I see is the cash float until the advertiser pays you because I know damn well they are not doing weeklies. Its worth it if you have the $ though defiantly something to consider down the road.

the real rate is that high!?

All i Can say is Kudos to honest folks like ROIShare who are willing to share the real deal with the community. Thank you ROIShare. You won't get any bashing from me. You are my hero.

Now, I know that this is probably known by most people but what are the bulk rates on the most popular offers?

MyFunCards
Webfetti
Dogpile Toolbar

I see the webfetti stuff almost everywhere and the myfuncards and the dogpile as well. I see the banners all the time when I launch my webmail.
