Just wondering if anyone knows the best way to go about setting up geo-targeted ads on a home page. I have already set up different offer pages depending on the location of the user - now i'm trying to figure out how to go about actually coding up something that will display the right graphic ad and headline to the user based on the city they are in. Then do I need some sort of database of geo-IPs to determine their location by matching their IP up to the info I already have or what? Any insight or nudge in the right direction would be appreciated!!
I have used maxmind to wrap text around the code to display the viewers location, but yeah, I would also like to be able to show a different image for the different IP's.
I'm sure someone on WFire can code something with php and a DB for this....
Or you have the browser redirect to your different landing pages depending on the incoming IP
