Do-follow links and icons

I want to create graphic buttons for my site that people can use at forums to link to the site with their screen name, like the graphics we use here in sigs that hold our affiliate referral links.

Also, I would like to create tiny graphic icons for the site as a social bookmarking tool like the little Reddit and Digg buttons.

What exactly are the graphic things called, and please suggest a program to make them. They need to be integrated into the site. Thanks.

Pardon mon ignorance, sometimes I don't know the names of things I need. Apparently there are banner maker programs around which could make the things. I have the project in the hands of a site design company and hoping they will supply all this stuff as part of the project.

I want one of those teeny little site icon share buttons like Digg and Reddit has, so people can sprinkle them around and go to the site.

So.... you want Digg button that's not for Digg, but for your own site? I think you're right, the designers you have working on the site should be able to sort that out for you.
