Do you listen to music while programming?

In all honesty, if you want something mellow, I've always found this quite special. Beware of massive epicness at 9:00 or so.

Holy crap - We don't need waterboarding anymore - just put that sax video on.

Shuffle on Pandora works wonders to help focus me for a task. Have a few different genres and just select some for a particular mood you're in. I use it from programming, to working in the yard, to doing the dishes.

Fuck yes. Found this album last week, it is the shit:

Otherwise I use Songza. It has playlists based on your activity or mood, and with that it keeps in mind that vocals can be distracting. There are TONS of instrumental playlists for any genre that you might be interested in, which usually keep me focused best.

Personally I like chill music when doing work, puts me in a smooth flow and these two mixes are just gold:

Best chillstep, atmosferic songs.

Could someone tell me what type of instrument produces the "ooooh" sound in this video after the 1:00 minute mark. It's the most amazing sound i've heard and would like to find similar music.

Check out pretty much anything listed here: Ambient Releases at Ektoplazm - Free Music Portal and Psytrance Netlabel

All of these albums are available for free download of lossless files under Creative Commons. If anybody likes trance / ambient / downtempo / electronica I highly recommend scouring the genres and recent uploads.
