Do you think this comp will have a hard time running photoshop and dreamweaver?

The site says that it comes with Vista Home Premium, so with those specs Photoshop could be a big sluggish, but if you run XP it'll be smooth. Get an extra gig of ram if you're worried about it.

My only thing I say to you if you want a pc and not a mac is get a Thinkpad if you need something that is going to be moved around a lot. My toshiba M45 is a workhorse though in a year in a half that I've had it it has worn through the paint job & shit, and that was within 6-8 months of having it.

I have used Toshiba laptop running on XP for two years now. It has been pretty stable for the most part. However I have had the power supply go on me and most recent is getting a new motherboard because of a burnt out CPU, of course it was under manufacturer's warranty! But for your case, if you want to run Dreamweaver and Photoshop, search around more to find something more suitable. Acer is not another option. Invest some money into something good because i thought I did and I was wrong. Mac vs. PC depends on your preference. Good luck with your search!

You should be fine with this, if you have multiple files open in photoshop it may slow down..but honestly, as long as you have a gig or more of ram your good for most things... Dreamweaver should be fine as well, however I've noticed that the new release of Dreamweaver (CS3) seems to use quite a bit more memory.

Looks good. Extra memory is good and when you get it do not add a bunch of crap on it and in fact go erase extra useless manufacturer stuff.

Turn off disk indexing...

Remove MSN Messenger

Any stupid OEM Software that you don't need.

Its always on the disks if you decide you need it.

But don't erase the mouse and pointer software, you need that.

Enjoy your new comp.

honestly 2gb ISNT a must, that computer is perfectly fine.

especially if you're dealing with online images with only 72 dpi.

i run vista professional, on a single core socket 939 processor, an ATI 9600 and 1gb of ram on my desktop and i've compiled HUGE 100mb+ word files into pdf files, i've also designed alot of 300dpi prints ranging from 8.5 x 11" to 6' x 2' and it was decent, altho the 6' did get a lil laggy.

if your budget is a lil tight 1 gb will suffice for now until you have more to upgrade it later

Hahaha! See, there's a catch there because you can't get the coupon codes but through a (spammy spammy) affiliate, and yet I tried to sit here and watch people talk about cheap laptops without saying anything and I was feeling guilty that I didn't say anything because these are sooooo cheap. :anon.sml:

I'll go ban myself. Goodbye forever. It was nice knowing you all. :crap:
