I was checking Google trends (attach) in last quoter tumblr become more popular that wordpress, judging by Google trends.

I was thinking to enter in wordpress themes business, but now i might change my mind and move to tumblr while is still low on competition.

It's good for finding 17 year-old sluts who want to link up and suck your dick.

There is more money in Wordpress, NO one buys tumblr themes.

One of the best places to sell wordpress theme's is themeforest.net

I dont find tumblr to be the best in terms of seo and traffic generation, or affiliate marketing. There are much better platforms

dude tumblr actually didn't go down because of 4chan...they never did an orchestrated ddos like they did with paypal on the site. The folks who actually take down services even admitted they themselves didn't attack tumblr directly but a lot of the younger tikes did... tumblr has been going down regularly for months becuase they've been growing 10x faster than they can keep up infrastructure wise. heck, twitter uses them for their status page.

but yeah i have 2 sites i use to post funny vids/pics on tumbr... it's a pain when its down but it's great for hosting media

Well, if you want to know which is more likely to quickly get indexed/rank - not Tumblr.

For some reason, it's almost as if any Tumblr site I build takes 3x as long to even get indexed. Also, they don't rank for shit - in my experience.

This all depends on what you're trying to use Tumblr for, of course, but for what I'm trying to do (usually build a backlink to a money site, and xrumer/scrapebox/linkspam it) Tumblr has not exactly been a good investment of time.

I am using both wordpress and tumblr. I like all. However, problems often happen to wordpress.

I dare say, old chap, that you're doing it wrong.

I built a tumblr the other night at 1am, pingdevice'd and pingler'd it, went to bed, woke up checked it out, google had already indexed and ranked it, as well as moving my main anchored keyword from 48 to 25. Brand new site, low/medium but quickly growing in competition/traffic niche.

New blogs off existing accounts get a lot more love than just building more accounts, from my experience as well.
