Once upon a time, i saw an upcoming band and thought i'd register the domain, and if they become big ill cash in.... Well they didn't and i forgot all about it, now i've just recieved an email from their record label asking would i be interested in selling the domain.

Now truth be told i bought the domain not actually thinking id sell or anyone would ever want to buy it, now because its a bands name and it has no pagerank (does have a year and a bit history) No value calculator will value it accurately, purely because its so specific to one thing.

Can anyone help at all?

You have to judge the band, and predict whether they have any future. If they do you may also consider how you could monetize it yourself.. (concert tickets etc)
Or just take the one time payout and be done with it. Oh and another thing to consider is how big is this label currently and what will they not be offended by.

(:

Tell them you have a project planned for it but will entertain an offer - don't say it was for their band or anything.

See i like this idea but when i first created the site, i mocked up some shitty photoshop pic, with a "For Sale" tag on the side, and for the life of me i can't think of a way of saying "Yes its for sale, But i want to play hard ball and get as much dosh out of you, as i can"

Offer up $5,000 to sell it. I'm sure that's a lot more than you ever hoped of getting. The record label may or may not go for it.

If you have some additional time, then also include a lower offer for their ownership of the domain if you can stay on and help promote the band online for a recurring monthly fee.
