domain forwarding with masking

Does domain forwarding with masking effect site indexing? Or am I just impatient?

Bought domain and hosting - ww.mysite.com, decided strategy wasn't targetted enough. So I bought keyword specific (kinda) domain without hosting which I forwarded with masking to a subdomain
on ww.mysite.com. The forwarding works, etc. But when I google'd the new domain, I am not finding it but I see ww.newdomain.mysite.com.

I submitted a sitemap for the new domain. Just wanted to know if there's any other considerations I should know about...
