Downtown Montreal Hotel?

In exactly 1 month im gonna be in Montreal for the UFC.. got the tickets n all but need to book a hotel and fast.. kinda waited till the last minute..

Wondering what a good place is? I fuckin hate holiday inn's.
 


I stayed at the Clarion in Montreal a few years ago and it was pretty sick and ridiculously cheap. It was our summer before college so nobody had money and you could drink there at 18 so it was obviously a good place to be. The room we had included a living room with a couch that turned into a bed, a dining/entry room, a kitchen with sink and dishwasher, a bathroom, and a bedroom. All of these things were secondary to PRICE as we just wanted to go and didnt give a fuck about the room, it just ended up being awesome. Oh, and theres a deck too.

The reason we decided on this place was because of the price and the location. it was like a 5 minute walk from the popular area with tons of bars and shops and shit. I forget what its called, do some research. Great hotel though. Ill try to find some pictures of the room.

I stayed at the Novotel Hotel. It's reasonable and within 2 blocks of the Bell Center and walking distance to restaurants and some nice strip clubs.
 
if u are 18 to 28 and want to be where the tourists party then stay close or on cresent street.

Yea, dude. That's the place I was trying to remember. The Clarion Hotel that I listed above is like a 4-5 minute walk to Crescent street. That's why I choose that one in the first place.
 
Close to the new Forum (Bell Center):

$$$$ - Le Crystal (sweet, and 1 block away)
$$$ - Sheraton (1 block away - you know what to expect)
$$$ - Novatel


Sorta Close:

$$$ - Hotel Bonaventure (5 Blocks)
$$$ - Chateau Champlain Marriot
$$$ - Queen Elizabeth (suites 1738-40-42 were taken by John Lennon and Yoko for their infamous "BED-IN" in'69)

Boutiques:

$$$$$ - W / Nelligan / St. Germain / St. Paul (all in Old Montreal - cool but 10 blocks + away)

Fuck those shitty hotels... Stay at the Opus hotel, take my word for it. Been living here all my life.
