I posted an ecommerce site in a health niche, and put my products up for pre-order. The traffic is great so far - just one problem.

Should I capitalize now with a quick Paypal button on the product page or get emails and send out when the product is in stock?

As of now, I have the Paypal button and do not know if it is hurting my conversions....

Well until you actually convert those emails to customers later, you won't know if forcing them to pay now is hurting your conversions. What you will know with the PayPal buttons is that you have money. And money is always better than a "hey, yeah, let me know when the product is in stock, there's a small chance I'll still be interested once I've forgotten all about it."

If you're sure you can convert the emails to paying customers later, go for it. But I'll take 1 yes over 10 maybes any day.

Getting the reservation now is good rather than wait for the stocks to be available. Cause they might've forgotten the "need" of the product if when it becomes available.

Just make them a good deal that if in 30/45/60 days if they don't have the product the money will be refunded and the product is theirs to keep if it becomes avilable.. or any similar deal to entice all the customers to reserve the product

Yes offer a reservation to x number of customers just make sure that stocks are flowing at all times for you not to get clogged by it.

Offer an incentives if they will reserve and offer a money back+ Incentives if in xx number of days they don't have the product. YOu'll get tons of reservations that way.
