Edinburgh?

North West England here - never been to Edinburgh but been planning to come for a visit for a long time now.

BTW... what is it with you Brits, and not traveling? I'm honestly curious, as never did figure it out.

I lived up in Darlington for a year, close to Teeside. You'd constantly meet 20-somethings that haven't even been to Yarm, and it's like 10km away.

I don't know, it was just weird coming from Canada I guess. For us, a quick 4 hour jaunt down the highway to go camping for a weekend is completely normal, whereas over there it's not so much.

Yeah, I dunno man, I know a lot of people from Coquitlam who think a trip into downtown Vancouver is a big adventure.

Depends who you meet. Maybe the Darlington crowd are a bit introverted or inbred or something, but I took my kids to Europe at least once a year, sometimes twice, all through their childhood. As an adult I've been to practically every European country, even the most boring place on earth: Luxembourg.

My british friends travel A LOT. Now that I think of it, brits do so more than most european nationals. It costs almost nothing to take ryan air or easy jet to numerous countries within europe for an incredible price, especially flying from London. Think $30-40 for a flight to spain.

Have you been in downtown Vancouver lately? If you make it out alive - it's definitely an adventure.

Wow, that is pretty close to me, I live in Central Durham (have done all my life). Small world. A lot have not travelled, but some younger people like myself have been to most places in the world.

Re the thread topic, I love Edinburgh, beats London imo, beautiful city.

I'm thinking of visiting either Dublin or Edinburgh soon. Do you by chance know how the two compare?

I have never been to Ireland before. But, with Edinburgh, I think most people will love it. The people are friendly, the city looks beautiful. Prepare to get a bad hangover though! The Scottish love to drink!

I was in Dublin at the weekend, hanging out with an ex-wf member, I mean "going to a conference".

I got a brutal hangover. It's a nice city.

I say go to both.

I went to Glasgow not that long ago, and got fined for apparently driving in a bus lane. Are the roads as shitty in Edinburgh as they are there?

Was it in Hope Street by any chance? I got one too but they sent a letter cancelling it as there were roadworks on.

Edinburgh you say?
