Education niche?

I'm currently in the process of building a major niche website dealing with education/jobs and plan to make money off of cpa offers as well as adsense. I'm about 30% finished and I out of no where I seemed to have lost all my motivation and drive because I looked into my competition and it seems very hard competing with places like monster, bls.gov..etc even the online schools.

I'm considering giving up and moving onto another niche or something smaller.

Any tips / advice / gtfos?
 


So you think you can't out rank the competitions and you want to look for something that you can rank. Question is how do you know you can't without trying? what are some of the kw that you can rank for? You will mever be able to answer the second question if you don't try.

it's going to be like this for every niche out there. You just gotta put in some effort and figure out an angle for your particular niche/site.

Have you done any budgeting for this project? If not you should start there.

Figure out how much you want to spend and pick an seo/traffic strategy that fits the budget and go for it.

For seo, start with kws that you think you could totally rank #1. Try it and measure your results. Once you rank, go for harder kws or figure out how to lower your costs so you can generate a profit.

If you find you're no good with seo, try other methods such as adwords, youtube, fb, etc

It's pretty simple once you set budget and test your results. Work at it enough and you'll eventually find something that works.

I suggest you take a look at ccarter's big brand thread in the enlightened section. Actually, that whole section is filled with money making ideas. Pick something you enjoy doing and go for it. Good luck.:thumbup:
 
ranking is not an issue, traffic is. If you can't rank find other ways of generating traffic. Rankings wont come to you in a day or even in a week. It takes time, so whil e waiting for it why not generate traffic from other sources, that way you can make money even without the rankings
 
Don't try and go head to head with the big players like Monster as I doubt you have the budget etc to do so.

Niche down and focus on some unique angle they aren't doing.

Before you build something 'major' build something small and test it. No point to spend lots of time and money to build a big project to find no one is interested and you can't make money from it.

Test first and then build out later.
 
Focus on what you want to accomplish and never quit!! You ALWAYS have to keep your motivation or you will be eaten alive.. That is with anything in life.. I am newer than probably anyone on this board but have tons of motivation.. You will NEVER succeed at ANYTHING unless you have motivation.. There will be times when family,friends and even strangers say you wont be able to do something. That is when you need to dig real fuckin deep and show them they are wrong!!

If you quit, it is on YOU!!
