I am creating an email list with autoresponder emails. For selling my product do I pre-sell on the email and then send them to a place to directly buy or do I talk a little bit about it, not saying its a sale and then sell it to them on the page I take them to?

To put it simply do I:
1. Pre-sell > buy page
or
2. Intrigue > pre-sell page > buy page

I have noticed the big email marketers in the AM Guru space tend to go with #2 even though #1 seems more simplistic?

And before someone says test it, I will I just want a main path to try first.

The first step isn't intrigue. It's build trust. You're always building trust. You want this fat woman to trust you with kid. Then she'll buy your acai pills, your colon cleanse, your weight loss ebook, and p180x.

I do work on building trust with multiple emails before my first sale. I just want to create the sale part before I start the funnel. The plan is multiple informative emails followed by a sale, then more informative emails followed by sale etc.

I agree with this 100%. Hear people work far too hard on creatives and from/subs when their list is just horrible. Build trust, traffic, list, then intrigue...and your golden.

If they are intrigued by your offering, you won't need to put the 'hard close' on the LP. The ultimate is by the time it comes to making the purchasing decision, they have already made up their mind that they want your offering.

Well second is always more effective when it comes to hardcore sales...first build the trust and then turn the iron hot by sending them your pre-sale page and then finally hit them with your sales page hammer. This always worked for me.
