Wow. So I realise I'm in a minority here, but I've got to bring on some forum support to the England rugby team. What a match against France. What a match against Australia. Wow. We're clearly not the best team but hey, what does that matter when you've got so much passion. Wow.

It's not pretty, it's not good, but clearly the passion has won the day, here. Wow. Absolute underdogs in both matches, but we manged it. As a ruby player myself, I've never ever felt more proud. Fucking bring it on.

Oh, and I won some bets, too:

England to win by 1-5 points @ 7/1 - £50.00 - £400.00 return
England score try before 46 minutes and 59 seconds @ 5/6 - £15.00 - £27.50 return
First score: England Try @ 9/1 - £15.00 on - £150.00 return.
ENGLAND TO WIN @ 9/4 - £50.00 on - £162.50 retun.

BRING IT ON.

LOL, well done sleepy, nice little return. I'm not really into rugby but I meant to watch the match today since the All Blacks had such a hissy-fit about losing to France the other day, it really sparked my interest, forgot though - was too engrossed in my adwords account.

So England did good, huh?

Yeah even i like rugby, I like when its like South Africa vS england or NewZealand :p

I'm not that bothered about it, but would've watched it I hadn't got into a film. Just seen the highlights, great game.

Congrats on ya wins mate, 7/1 nice!

Yeah. Cheers everyone. My head hurts today, though. Catt: Any relation?

I thought some of the odds were pretty soft - especially the 7/1 one. I had £15 on a 33/1 punt on neither team getting more than 10 points, which very nearly came good.

Happy days.

Must. Stop. Gambling.

Mmmmmm, I don't like the fact that you beat us (australia) without even scoring a try. I'm a rugby league man myself, but I don't mind a bit of international level union (espeically tri-nations).

Wilkinson is a good kicked, but thats just it. He's a good kicker. Englands defense is fairly solid, but attack is rubbish - only try you got against france was really a bit of luck and poor ball covering from france.

England is scoring points and winning games...fair enough - but its just from kicking. I'd watch soccer if I wanted to see that.

Was very surprised at NZ not going through...yet again!

Unfortunately it looks like Sth Africa will stomp it in.

Shame.
Although I agree with both of your assertions, I will note that this is what they said about Australia and New Zealand before both of their last matches.

South Africa have got to beat two spirited teams yet and the way the Argentinians have been playing they've got a difficult game tonight.

Wilkinson has even been a third of the man he was in the last world cup, and it's certainly not down to him that we won any games.

While we've not looked like scoring at all there has been some solid attack. Defence is outstanding and I would defy anyone to show me a team that won more turnovers than England did against Australia.

It's all part of the game. The reason we are being given so many kicking opportunities is because of the relentless defence, forcing errors. Why not take advantage of that. Both against France and Australia we could have has a lot more points than we ended up with if Wilkinson had been on form.

The Australian game was interesting because we were far and away the better team. Australia went in thinking it would be an easy game, realised that they were actually going to have to play (but realised it too late) then panicked. Drop goals from 55m? Mortlock's last attempt at the penalty (he's not even Australia's best penalty kicker)? Say what you like about the kicking game and us getting lucky against France; you can't argue that we played Australia off the field. The scoreline was didn't reflect the gap between the teams.
