Jacob has over 10 years of experience as a published, professional writer and five years of experience in academic teaching English, journalism, technical writing, and creative writing on both the collegiate and high school level. Jacob started his career as a speechwriter, writing for politicians running for local, state and federal office(s) in Kentucky, Indiana, Florida, and New York. He holds a Bachelor’s of Science in English and Social Studies Education; a Master in Education, M.ED, in English Education with a Writing Endorsement; a Master of Fine Arts, MFA, in Writing. Currently he is on faculty at several universities in Louisville in addition to teaching AP English and AP creative writing in the public schools. Jacob has been published in newspapers, literary magazines, and scholarly journals.
