Anyone replaced iOS with Android on an iPad?

Ready to get out of the trap now. Love the devices, hate the company and whole awkwardness it creates if every device isn't on iOS or OSX.

Not quite ready to abandon OSX yet as I need some stuff, but my iPad is crippled with iOS. Not seeing promising results in Google search so far.

Thanks

Not possible. Sell your iPad and buy an android tablet.

Actually Android is full of **** too. If you want a truly private alternative, you may want to take a look at Replicant or CyanogenMod projects.

Prism-Break.org suggest lots of additional options too.

My 0.02.

fuck switching tablets, i've dropped mine and no-one makes products as nice as apple. will just stick with the evil cunts.

Surface Pro 3

I have to say this is the only thing I have found interesting walking through electronics stores. Looked very square though, I do like my Apple curves.

Anyone replaced a Macbook Air and iPad with a Surface Pro 3?
I would love to leave Apple and it would be free as I can just swap the other two devices for it. I assume you can use Virtual Box to run OSX on one of these like you can the other way around?

I also played with a Surface Pro 3 tablet at a Microsoft store recently. I was not thrilled that the keyboard was not included and sports a $120 price tag. I was very impressed with the built-in adjustable hitch that allows very every viewing angle you'd ever need. One thing I dislike about my iPad is the clunk case that I have to carry to prop it up and hold the keyboard. The device also sports a good processor, which, so does everything these days since i5 is the standard now? SSD and 4GB of ram for around $999 I believe.

I'm strongly considering purchasing one to replace all of the short comings of my ipad. Trying to do any linux related tasks with the app stores horrible SSH and terminal utilities feels like something from 1986. It's just really not compatible with the type of work that I'm doing. It's so locked down and restricted and it really only seems to be good for the masses of people who only know how to watch Netflix and surf Facebook.

I plan to install Linux on it and use it as my portable workstation, working on my raspberri pi stuff, and streaming / watching stuff on flights when traveling.

It has good battery life with around 7-8 hours at max brightness according to this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nQWs7jUePzM

The more I type the more I'm selling myself on this damn thing.
