A little over a year ago I created the first "Pumper Sites" thread. The exact date was September 16th and I missed it - but I still want to mark the milestone. It's been a great and intense year; I met a lot of awesome people and helped them where I could, - it felt great.
I had never really planned to start continuously selling links before that. However, after I posted a little educational thread about some of the stuff I did in the WF SEO contest that I nearly won (I'll get you sexy skohh!) I saw a big demand for this kind of links. Then I decided to share the goodness I've been using to rank my own sites.
As time went by I tweaked the service for the best performance/safety balance and now Essential Pumpers are a killer package to start linkbuilding for any site. As a result I have a steady operation rolling 24/7 supplying links for many resellers and agencies based on exclusive deals. You just can't go wrong with this. Selling Forskolin is awesome and keeps me in shape, but helping people rank their sites is very rewarding emotionally and keeps my eggs in different baskets so I got pretty attached to this.
Now let me recap on everything that went on. I can split the past year into two main periods:
"Pumper Sites" - a term I chose to describe the service where a lot of automated links would be getting filtered by 5-7 web properties such as free blogs or free website hosts. This stuff worked pretty well (and still does) mostly thanks to the massive tier link power. I was using over 10K links, at least 35% of them being real contextual in-article links, many from authority domains. Moreover, I focused on the properties' quality - several pages/posts, authority co-citation links, headers, meta descriptions and all that. Just the way I was building it for myself.
February 2014 - now
Essential Pumpers. Every other link seller and their uncle started using the root "pump" right and left and I put a new name to my thing. I am not very much into public debates over who has more rights to use a generic term, so the service was named Essential Pumpers, - "essential" because I believe this type of links is the cornerstone of any backlink profile.
Together with the name change came a major service upgrade. I've trained my staff to go deeper into the art of profile creation and put some of the tricks I've been using for a while into mass production.
Essential Pumpers gets you an extremely diverse and "trendy" link package from the web's most popular sites. Each customer gets popular site profiles, portfolio pages, social media aggregator links, list creation links and much more, along with the regular contextual platforms.
In addition, every now and then I'm looking for an exclusive place to drop your links, like a phat newspaper profile or a little-known membership site. These are usually not abused by spammers at all, so the first customers that get them enjoy the best effect.
One of the main tricks of Essential Pumpers was that each order started looking as an organic collection of profiles and blogs that belong to what I call a "niche enthusiast" - a persona that connects everything with the same name, location and similar imagery. It's awesome for local SEO since most of the platforms I use allow location tweaking, and it's equally great for reputation management since they are all connected. I know tons of people (myself included) who have been doing this kind of linkbuilding for ages, and this strategy is bullet-proof.
Naturally, you get best results when you develop the properties and the persona further - and that is why each Essential Pumpers report contains all the login data, including a master e-mail account that 'ties the room together'.
Obviously the set of profiles described above was still getting smashed with tier links by design, and I'm constantly tweaking stuff here as well. Since I am using custom tags and templates in the popular linkbuilding software, I manage to hit more targets with good contextual links. On the other hand, the second tier gets spread over a decent amount of properties so there is practically no risk here. I have started adding social signals on top of the tier links lately - so some of the propeties from your order may be getting tweets, pins and Google +1's.
Those of you who noticed similar services grow like mushrooms after a warm rain - don't be surprised, because this stuff works, and I've been delivering it for over half a year already. The reason it works so well is that your site needs to be "present" on web's best platforms in order to gain access to the "cool kids club" and react better to all the further links you will build. If you are building more and more links it's only natural and logical that your site is often mentioned where the web's most traffic is. Read more about the "logical links" philosophy on the service homepage.
