im not one of them losers or copycats who asks "how did you get rich?" etc. id like become successful online doing my own thing and not copy someone else.

im pretty sure u'll agree with me that the only help that you should get from others is "what not to do", right?

well this thread is for people to learn from others mistakes..list yours!

:)

ill go first:

- do not buy traffic from myspace bulletins.

Wasting money on 2 ebooks. When I should of spent that money on testing sites. Learn from forums and your own testing.

buying exit traffic. I bought 30,000 visitors once (couple of years ago) - sure, got lots of traffic, but no extra ad clicks or subscribers. And then google dumped the site to the bottom of the index for a year.

I agree with nachoninja .......Reading way too much information on DP before I decided to come over to WF and get my feet wet :)

Too much thinking/reading in the beginning stages. Not enough doing. I can't stress enough how big that is.
It should go like this:
1. Research
2. Test
3. Read for new ideas/ways to improve
4. Test
5. Expand, exploit, execute
6. do it over.

LOL yeah i did that once too what a waste of money

Waiting too long to monitize myspace. For most of 2006 I ignored myspace marketing despite reading about it in SP and other forums. I thought is was full of annoying kids and impossible to monitize. But when I began pulling in $$$ everyday after a fre months I was proven wrong. Sometimes you have to silence your skepticism and try new things.

I spent too much time trying to learn new things and not enough time using the skills I already had.

Now I keep up the self education, but balance it and spend more time writing. I have a partnership CD & S (create, divide, and seperate) and we could've have had 4 sites each by now instead of just one each from that project.

(Wooohoooo! 500th post!)

I spent all my money on hookers and drugs instead of paying my adwords bill

Seriously though, I wish I started sooner, it's by far the biggest mistake I've made so far. Time is expensive..

Surfed too many xxx sites and when I thought it's about time to do some work, it was already bed time... :D

I made many mistakes, too many to count but from that we only learn and come back stronger and more experienced I think... I don't see mistakes as a failure, but more as part of the game!

One of the best soccer players ever made a nice quote:

"Every disadvantage has got it's advantage." - Johan Cruijff.

If you think about, in many cases he's right, at least that's what I think! :)

Mistakes!? Dude I make mistakes everyday, I didnt launch my first money making site up untill about 8 months ago. Mistakes are good, learn from them.

But I agree, That howd you get rich shit dont work, "Jon, Jon, Jon! Ohh Shoe!" in fact I cant stand swingers! I cant stand dick suckers! I can understand people getting frustrated and wanting experienced advice, but man people take that shit way to far. Pull your head out of your ass and work something for christ sake!

My biggest mistake is reading too much thing but not implementing them. The desire to find more information kills the real action. Better to do it.

When you are stuck, you can ask questions in the forums.

I am not into MySpace till now and thought on getting some traffic from them. What's wrong with myspace traffic?

I think we already see a pattern here..
The most common mistake ppl make, including me: wasting time! :)

As we know, reading and researching is good (and necessary), but there comes a point where you just gotta pinch yourself in the arm, wake up, and just DO.

My 2nd biggest mistake so far was buying arbi traffic from Miva. (Hint: They suck ass)

Wow, this topic came just in time for me. I always do this stupid stuff, just read and read and do nothing. I've just started writing my first arbi ever, it's in the financial category and hopefully i'll do well =)
