If a domain name has expired and I buy it for $5 will it retain its Page Rank with Google ?

75% of mine hold PR, I haven't got thousands so maybe not enough to go by.

If I leave them parked they drop rank noticeably after 3-4 months.

Haven't done much domaining for a few months now so could be out of date.

I think not.

I have bought domains and they were transferred and they held PR. But I wouldnt count on it.

Like the above said, they do hold about %75 of the time, though you will sometimes see a drop.

If you use Cache, Archive or Warrick to recreate the old content, then you are looking at %95++ and get further bonuses

....also go to archive.org to check how aged the backlinks are - this can help alot as well in terms of the value of the domain property

Hello Rawbones,

The most domain registrars charge an extra fee for renewing a domain name after it has expired but is still in the redemption period. It is like with many things pay your bill on time or pay a late fee.It is still better to pay the $80 during the redemption period than what the price goes to after the redemption period. Many expired domains are bough up by third parties.

I had already paid to manashosting website hosting company but till now they have no renewed my domain , and its going to expire in the morning

good luck with your domain ... please shere if you adjusted old site content or uploaded a new one ... did your domain carry on its PR??? I am facing the same deal - I will own my new domain on sept 26, 2009
