Just noticed this in my Facebook ads account today, thought I'd share. Had a quick look round it, seems pretty good and its way faster than usual FB ad interface. Also includes a duplicate button!

From Facebook ads:

Power Editor is a free tool that replaces and enhances the capabilities of the Bulk Uploader. Power Editor makes it easy to create, edit and manage ads and campaigns in bulk, even across a large number of different ad accounts. You can download this guide to learn how to use all the features that Power Editor offers.

Getting started using Power Editor

Step 1: Use Google Chrome
You should be accessing this page using Google Chrome. If you do not have Google Chrome installed on your computer yet, please download Chrome here: Google Chrome - Get a fast new browser. For PC, Mac, and Linux

Step 2: Install Power Editor by clicking here

Step 3: Open Power Editor
After install, a new browser tab will automatically open up: click on the Power Editor icon on that tab to launch Power Editor. If the tab doesn’t open up, please click here

Return to Power Editor
If you have already installed Power Editor, you can click here to open it, or open a new browser tab and click on the Power Editor icon.

Enjoy :)

Played around with it a bit, and it looks pretty sweet. It shows lifetime stats. Too bad you can't sort stuff.

Can you install and use this if you don't have access to their bulk uploader and the link to DL this doesn't naturally appear on your left hand sidebar? I can't imagine they're just going to release a public bulk uploader to everyone out there, but who knows...

Good point, not sure...I have bulk uploader access in the account I installed this on, but it does allow for multiple accounts so who knows. Maybe someone who doesn't have bulk upload enabled on their account can try to install it and report back.

Just checked on a non-bulk editor account and it worked. The 'extension' is actually really basic and just consists of 1 json file that contains:

Code:
{
   "app": {
      "launch": {
         "web_url": "https://www.facebook.com/ads/manage/powereditor/"
      },
      "urls": [ "https://www.facebook.com/ads/manage/powereditor/" ]
   },
   "description": "Facebook Ad Power Editor",
   "icons": {
      "128": "icon_128.png"
   },
   "key": "",
   "name": "Power Editor",
   "permissions": [ "unlimitedStorage", "notifications" ],
   "version": "1.1"
}

You can actually directly access https://www.facebook.com/ads/manage/powereditor/in any browser and it will load, just not allow you to do anything...my guess is that the 'key' field in the extension (which i removed above) authenticates you and enables the functionality. Either way, nice to see facebook making changes to their platform thats actually useful for a change.

Awesome stuff but still wonder if this is actually only meant for certain accounts and invite only kinda stuff? they prolly wont like if everyone of us creating 1000s of ads lol. Holding off for a while. FB is notorious about banning accounts for weird reasons. after using this, a love letter might drop in saying, "You have engaged in business practices not in line with facebook TOS such as using tools designed for premium advertisers. Due to abuse, your account has been suspended"

Better check before you all jump on it

Was thinking the same shit once I hit the login screen. I'll wait until the martyrs report back with results.

so far I've found this buggy as hell - mainly surrounding the upload feature set.

Anyone using a tool provider built off the FB API (which I have access to but don't yet want to build against) with positive things to say?

Seems like facebook is getting track on some of the problems it had in start.

Anyhow, do any of you know why the Facebook Power Editor - button does not show up on the left side when I'm viewing my campaigns from my account ?

Funny enough I were able to install it via Edward_b's link, and also to make it connect with my account. But I wasn't able to make a campaign from the tool. I pressed the 'create campaign' button in the Facebook Power Editor Tool, but nothing happened.

Do any of you know why ?

this duplication feature is pretty badass, but does anyone know if facebook still associates ads with eachother if you click to duplicate it? On their normal platform, if you click 'create similar ad' FB associates the 2 ads with eachother... and if one ad doesnt perform well, it effects its associated ads. It only works against you and not for you (so if an ad is working great, there is no advantage to clicking "create similar".) This came directly from my rep. Anyone else have any experience with this?
