Hey guys,

I've recently started my own 'big brand blog' thanks to CCarter and Tavin. It's going well so far but I was thinking if anyone could give me some more info with facebook marketing as I've never used it.

I was wondering - What is the lowest viable cpl if I was trying to build a targeted followers base.

Then with those followers if I was to purchase the sponsored posts for say $5 would it be enough to generate a certain amount likes, shares. I have no idea about the reach of this advertising again as i've never dipped my foot in the pond. I'd be doing this to boost social media presence as I believe it will help rank drastically for all the long tails etc within a post. Google seems to eat that shit up.

Thanks guys.

It depends on site you want to promote. If it having good content which will be loved by facebook users then it can do great. First try to create fan base by posting useful content over your page & then promote it a little to see what responses come. You can look out for Facebook PPC advertising as well.

yep - I am concentrating my efforts on an authority site that I'm building and I was thinking to create some brand awareness to advertise on facebook to gain likes who I can then advertise posts towards and help rank. The content is pretty well appreciated by those that read it and I was wondering if it would be worth it or would I just end up in red with my ROI.

The entire point of Tavin's post was to use the money to boost the count artificially and let the visitors of your website eventually like the fanpage themselves.

I see that you're doing it backwards. Don't worry if the members are "fake" or not, buy them on Fiverr and once you're site begins receiving targeted traffic from the Googlez your likes will eventually rise.

I agree with Johnathan. First try to build creditability first by buying likes on fiverr etc. then doing the FB ads.

Depending on your niche, you may want to look at other forms of traffic too to help promote your site

search for targeted users on facebook, look for concurents users that like their pages and add it to another account as a friend by send a friends request, share your business pages from personal account...
