fake geo location ads tanked in MN

Sounds like the local businesses are pissed because they fail at advertising themselves.

Haha, was exactly my thought.

The days of the "list myself in yellow pages and get custoners" are over. Small business owners need to quickly realize that and get their shit together. Start a blog, be engaged in the community, talk to people, hold DIY days or art/craft classes. There are so many ideas. I find from talking to many small business owners, they are so used to getting it the easy way that they are unwilling to put in the work. That especially applies to older, more established businesses.

phew, for a second I thought they were on to Local Mom {f_name} from {mn_town} who was just fortunate enough to make $891 per day online!1

if they're still stuck on flowers we've got what- 6-7 more years until they can comprehend this

Maxmind should change their company tagline to "you see me floggginnnnnnn you hattiiinnnnnn...."

Let's summarize :

Local florist and lock smiths with shitty ads/web pages can't pull in and convert customers. National company with good ads/web pages can convert better even while charging much more. They then fulfill the order by paying the local florist/lock smith to do the job and take a cut. Local florist/lock smith gets their panties in a bunch about it and instead of realizing these companies are getting sales at higher prices through better marketing they figure it's all linked to the 2-3 words in the ad that say "Minneapolis Florist" and have gotten their local government to make laws to stop it.

Mean while these guys still have shitty websites that can't convert customers.
