farmville surpasses 80M users

there's some news that's not a surprise. One thing to remember is people create fake profiles and raise a farmville character on it to be nieghbors and friends to thier main profile.

...but it is still the biggest game on facebook right now backed by the biggest virtual currency peddlers out right now Zynga (revenue estimated to hit 500Million this year).

That's higher than FB's revenues...crazy. FB should just take some VC money and acquire Zynga.

Offerpal is cleaning up on that shit too I would imagine.

Yeah there was a big shit storm on Techcrunch about OfferPal's CEO being on the rag and going off at a conference about Mike Arrington calling OfferPal, rightfully so, a bunch of scam peddlers making bank off Zynga (and vice versa.)

Yeah but they're still running the incent offers on there. Now it seems to be only Netflix, Blockbuster, Discover etc though but I'm sure they're still banking. I read somewhere that about 2/3 of the users complete offers for farmcash so that's pretty major numbers.

It doesn't bode well for humanity that so much money can be made off such stupid shit. Mad props to Zynga though. I'm trying to think of my own stupid game or web app to launch lol

My gf is fuckin addicted to this shit, first thing she does when she gets in is check on her farm.

She spends hours on it... and ya can't even breed the animals or kill em for meat.. what sort of fucking shitty farming operation is that?
